KCH Diagnostic Imaging Center
Under the direction of Radiologist Jamil Sarfraz, M.D., KCH Diagnostic Imaging offers a full array of diagnostic services and screening exams to meet the needs of our patients and our referring physicians. Dr. Sarfraz is triple American Board certified in Diagnostic Radiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Internal Medicine.
All Imaging modalities are digital including general Radiography, Fluoroscopy, Ultrasound, Mammography with Computer Aided Detection Software, Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, 1.5T MRI, 32-slice Computed Axial Tomography (CAT/CT Scan) with 3D Imaging, Full Body DEXA Scanning (bone density), Nuclear Medicine, and Portable Radiography/Fluoroscopy used in our Operating Suite and Pain Management.
KCH also offers PET/CT at Hamot Medical Park in Johnsonburg that completes our full service Imaging Center. Images are stored on and off site using our PACS (picture archiving communication system). This system is a password protected web-based site that allows physicians, anywhere in the world, to view patient’s images.
This capability improves patient outcomes and decreases the amount of repeat studies being performed.
The KCH Diagnostic Imaging specialty in Breast Imaging offers the only in-house Stereotactic Breast Biopsy unit in the area. At KCH, same day results for breast imaging sets us apart. Many patients are anxious about their mammogram results and breast ultrasound exams. We schedule patients so that Radiologist Dr. Sarfraz, is able to review the patient’s mammogram and ultrasound exams as soon as they are completed and the patient is given their results before they leave the Center. This gives our patients peace of mind and eliminates the stress of waiting for results.
Other procedures include angiograms, venograms, myelograms, nuclear cardiac studies, and all types of biopsies under imaging modality guidance.
KCH staffs the Imaging Center with experienced professional Registered Technologists and top notch Radiologists 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The Imaging Department holds accreditations by the Amerian College of Radiology (ACR) and MQSA in Mammography. Other accreditations by ACR include CAT scan, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, and MRI. We practice according to the guidelines of the American College of Radiology, FDA, and Department of Health. All KCH Imaging staff is licensed by the American College of Radiology (ACR) and the American Registry of Radiologic Technolgists (ARRT).
KCH is committed to preventing disease and keeping our patients healthy. In an effort to stay true to our commitment, the Imaging Center offers screenings through the year. These wellness screenings include screens for Breast Cancer, Lung Cancer, Heart and Vascular Disease, and Osteoporosis. Screenings can be scheduled at the Center.
