Kane Rotary & KCH to Host Multiphasic Blood Screening on Saturday, March 2

On Saturday, March 2, Kane Rotary & Kane Community Hospital will host the first of two Multiphasic blood screenings in Kane (St. Callistus Church Hall, Chase Street, Kane).  The second offering in Kane is scheduled for Saturday, October 5, also at St. Callistus Church Hall.  Each runs from 6 - 9:30 a.m.

The series of seven wellness screens throughout the area are community-partnered multiphasic blood screenings.

There are 30 plus blood tests for $35 in the basic panel.  There are also several optional tests for additional fees.  Two newer tests being offered are Vitamin D and Hepatitis C, both currently in the news. (Western Pennsylvania is one of the areas in the United States that is notable for Vitamin D deficiency. Vitamin D is critical for good health.)

Other optional tests are A1c for diabetes, TSH for thyroid, PSA screening for prostate cancer, and Occult blood screening for colon cancer.

Free blood pressures and health information are also available at KCH-partnered Multiphasic Blood Screenings.  Fasting for 12 hours prior to testing provides the best results.

Pre-registration is requested by Wednesday, February 27.  Walk-ins are welcome.

To register call 837-4790 or toll-free 1-800-565-9200 and ask for ext. 4790. Please have the name, birth date, doctor's name handy for each individual being registered.  Registrants do not need to be current KCH system patients.

Multiphasic Blood Screenings are a KCH and Rotary partnership in Kane, Mt. Jewett, Johnsonburg, and Sheffield.  In Ridgway, KCH partners with Helpmates, Inc.

Proceeds from the events help fund local projects.  Dates and locations of the remaining 2013 series of multiphasics are: May 4 (Sheffield Area Medical Center), September 7 (St. Leo's Church, Ridgway), October 5 (St. Callistus Church, Kane), and November 2 (Sheffield Area Medical Center).
