Basic Life Support Recertification classes at KCH

KCH healthcare professionals are recertified in Basic Life Support (BLS).  Recertification is required every two years. Those certified in BLS are able to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, provide CPR to victims of all ages, use an Automated External Defibrillator AED, and relieve choking in a safe, timely and effective manner.

Here is one of two groups recertified last week including (from left to right) Bobbi Anderson, RN; Veronica Westerburg, LPN; Lisa Pence, RN; Julie Laughner, RT(R)(M)(BD)(CT); Wayne Steele, LPN, Basic Life Support Instructor, and KCH Emergency Preparedness Coordinator; Kelley Myers, RN; and Cammy Engman, LPN.  Recertification is a two-part process with written and practical components.  The practical portion is performed with the use of Resusci Anne, a gift to KCH from Ford made possible by Zook Motors, Inc.
