Hairong Peng, MD, PhD Joins KCH Medical Staff
Kane Community Hospital, an affiliate of UPMC Hamot, is pleased to announce that Hairong Peng, MD, PhD, UPMC fellowship trained interventional pain management physician and anesthesiologist has joined the hospital’s staff and is now providing care to patients at KCH on a part-time basis. In November he will be fulltime.

Gary Rhodes, Vice President of UPMC Hamot and CEO, Kane Community Hospital. “We are pleased that Dr. Peng has chosen to practice pain medicine at KCH. His extensive research on the muscular-skeletal system has enhanced his understanding and appreciation of the complexity of most chronic pain syndromes and he will serve residents of the region well.”
Dr. Peng brings nearly 20 years of experience to the area. He completed his MD, PhD in 1989 from West China University of Medical Sciences in Chengdu, Sichuan, China.
He completed his general surgery internship at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center and his anesthesiology residency at Western Pennsylvania Hospital and Allegheny General Hospital.
Dr. Peng received his fellowship training in pain management at UPMC. He is Board Certified in both Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Peng is married with children. His hobbies include drawing and painting, woodworking, gardening and Tai Chi.
