Lichtenberger Resigns KCH Board of Directors

Since 2001, Jane Lichtenberger served on the Kane Community Hospital Board of Directors representing the Sheffield, Warren County area.  September’s meeting was her final meeting.  Jane and her husband, Dennis "Butch", sold their home in Barnes and purchased a home in Florida where they now permanently reside.

Jane served on the KCH board during some of the most significant board decisions since the hospital's formation in 1927.

During her tenure, the hospital began a very successful bariatric surgery program, an aggressive physician integration plan that included expansion into Ridgway, made the early decision to implement a complete electronic medical record, and purchased a state-of-the-art, all digital imaging department, well ahead of any other local hospital.

Lichtenberger helped lead the hospital through some challenging financial times and make the decision to affiliate with Hamot.  The most significant decision made by the Board was to integrate as an affiliate of Hamot Health Foundation.  This integration has already produced very significant improvements in the quality of care delivered in the KCH ER, with many more projects underway.  Already there has been a significant financial turn-around.

Jane’s tenure and contributions on the KCH Board, under the leadership of President Donald Payne and CEO J.Gary Rhodes, have been significant and she will be missed.  The entire KCH  family wishes the Lichtenbergers an enjoyable retirement in Florida.
