KCH launches Interventional Pain Management Center

Kane Community Hospital is pleased to announce the opening of the KCH Pain Management Center with Robert Landfried, D.O., Medical Director; George Saleh, CRNA BSN BSNA, Manager of KCH Anesthesia; and Robin Copley, CRNA BSN MSN.  (Click HERE to view the an announcement poster.)

Dr. Landfried is Board Certified in Anesthesiology and is Fellowship-trained in Pain Management.

The Center provides interventional pain management solutions and administers joint injections to ease pain that cannot be repaired with surgery.

If you are living with pain that is interfering or limiting you from enjoying life -- whether the pain is in your back, leg, hip, neck, knee, rib or shoulder -- the KCH Pain Management Center team will work with you to develop a treatment plan specific to your needs.

Injections are generally done in a series of three. The patient arrives at the KCH Pain Management Center located within the KCH Short Procedure Unit (SPU) for treatment and will be greeted and cared for by KCH staff.  After a treatment, the patient is not permitted to drive him or herself home, but normal activity may be resumed the next day.

While not a cure, studies have shown that 70-80 percent of patients receive relief from their pain. Other benefits are reduced inflammation, less need for pain medications, greater mobility, and a better quality of life.

Treatment procedures include lumbar epidural injections, stellate ganglion injections, trigger point injections, peripheral nerve injections, plexus anesthesia, bursa injections, shoulder, knee, elbow, small joint injections, and Occipital nerve injections.

Treatments done under fluoroscopy include facet injections, transforaminal epidural injections, sacroiliac injections, thoracic epidural steroid injections, cervical epidural injections.

To get started, you'll need a referral from your doctor. If your doctor determines that one of these procedures is appropriate for you, you'll be scheduled for treatment at KCH's Pain Management Center. The number for you or your doctor to call for an appointment or additional information is (814) 837-4755.
