KCH Cardiac Rehabilitation Celebrates National Senior Health & Fitness Day All Week

KCH joined organizations across the country to celebrate the 17th Annual National Senior Health & Fitness Day (NSHFD) on May 26, 2010.  As an official host site, KCH’s Cardiac Rehabilitation is hosting several events this week.

On Monday KCH Cardiac Rehab and Wellness provided a Diabetes Q&A.  Tuesday the Silver Sneakers Class had a Party at Evergreen Park. Wednesday is Game Day starting at noon in the Cardiac Rehab Department.  On Thursday there will be a Silver Sneakers Lunch & Learn entitled "Everyday Weight Management".  Bring your own lunch!! And on Friday, there will be a Medicine Q & A at 8:30 a.m. at Cardiac Rehab.

KCH joins an estimated 100,000 seniors across the country expected to help promote active, healthy lifestyles through physical fitness, good nutrition and preventive care.

National Senior Health & Fitness Day (NSHFD) is held on the last Wednesday in May in support of Older Americans Month and National Physical Fitness and Sports Month. According to Jessica McDivitt, Manager of KCH Cardiac Rehab and Emily Zimmerman, Cardiac Rehab Instructor,  “This week is a great opportunity for seniors to make, renew, and revitalize their commitment to live healthier lives through better health and fitness.”
