Papalia Promoted to Director of Operations at KCH

J. Gary Rhodes, CEO, Kane Community Hospital has announced the promotion of Mark Papalia to the position of Director of Operations at KCH. 

Papalia began his work at KCH in January of 2005 as Financial Analyst and was later promoted to Director of Finance.  As Director of Operations at KCH he will spend some of his time at Hamot Medical Center and will be overseeing a rotating/new set of KCH departments as part of his executive development. 

Papalia, a lifetime resident of Warren, graduated from Warren Area High School in 1998.  He received his B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Statistics from the Pennsylvania State University at Erie, The Behrend College in 2002, and his Master of Science in Applied Statistics from Bowling Green State University in 2003. 

He passed the first of the series of Actuarial Examinations offered jointly by the Society of Actuaries and Casualty Actuarial Society in Fall 2003.

Papalia is a member of the American Statistical Association and a member of the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) since 2005.  In 2007, Papalia received his certificate of Healthcare Financial Management from Indiana University.

He is pursuing professional designation as a Certified Healthcare Financial Professional (CHFP) through HFMA.  He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives and is pursuing board certification.
