Visiting Hours

It is the policy of Kane Community Hospital to provide for open visitation on all patient units. Visiting is permitted at all times unless otherwise warranted by the patient’s condition.

Patient Television

$6.50/day, not to exceed $91/month. The fee can be billed to your home telephone bill or to your VISA, Mastercard, or Discover Card.

Volunteer Chaplains & KCH Chapel

KCH recognizes the importance of spiritual needs in patient care and family support. We offer a 24-hour a day, seven day a week Volunteer Chaplains Program. If you wish to talk with a chaplain, please let our staff know. Our Chapel is available 24/7 and is located on the first floor, a few doors from the ICU. You may leave a prayer request in the Chapel.

The Gardens at KCH

The Gardens at KCH are located to the right of the ER/outpatient entrance to the hospital. Please enjoy the serenity and beauty of this space. There are benches, picnic tables and gazebo. The Gardens were dedicated in 2006 with gratitude to those who have dedicated their lives to the Healing Arts.

Telephone Calls

No charge for local and long distance patient calls. Dial 9 plus telephone number you are calling.

ATM

Beginning in March 2010 an ATM machine will be located across form the Surgical Waiting Room on the ground floor.

KCH Cafeteria Dining Room Hours

Ground Floor
Breakfast: 8-10 a.m. — Lunch: 11 a.m.-1 p.m. — Supper: 4:30-6 p.m.

Other Food Options

Snack and pop machines are located by the ER entrance on the ground floor. A food machine is filled daily with great care by our Dietary Team and is available 24/7 in our dining room. Coffee is available until 6 p.m. in the Dining Room.

KCH Friends Gift Shop

Our gift shop is located across from the surgical wait room on the ground floor and is open M-F, 10 a.m.—2 p.m. or by appointment (837-4716). We stock greeting cards, small gifts e.g., plush animals, Webkins, LogoWear, jewelry, candy by the bar, bag, or box, and much more....come visit us!!!

Fresh Flowers

Should you wish fresh flower arrangements, please feel free to use the phone in the Surgical Waiting Room or phone in the main lobby to place your order. Call Trina Thomas Flowers, 46 Birch Street, Kane at 837-8218.

Hallway Photo & Art Galleries

Photographs by local nature and landscape photographers may be enjoyed on the ground floor hallway walls and in the cafeteria. Original art from local artists may be found on first and second floors. We hope you enjoy the talents of the members of ArtWorks at the Depot who work in partnership with the Hospital in these rotating galleries. If you are interested in purchasing a photograph or other art, please call 837-4716. Monday - Friday or ask at the main desk.

Please don’t be confused…

Our main lobby and front desk are at the back of the hospital from Route 6. Our ER/Outpatient entrance is at the front of the hospital. Both entrances are on the ground or “G” floor. MedSurg, ICU, Cardiac Lab and Clinic, and Pharmacy are on our first floor. Same Day Surgery or Short Procedure Unit (SPU), Cardiac Rehab and Wellness/Fitness Center and some administrative offices are on the top/second floor.

You should know that…

Wellness Options at KCH include Cardiac Rehab as well as a supervised fitness club (membership for $25/month and your doctor’s okay to exercise). The popular Silver Sneakers Exercise Program focuses on muscular strength and range of motion ($1/class). Geared toward those 55 or older, the program benefits everyone. For more information on this and other exercise options, call 837-4779.

Our In-house Rehabilitation Services Team offers in-patient, outpatient and home health rehabilitation services. Ask your health care provider for KCH Rehab or call 837-4736. Our outpatient Rehabilitation Services is located in the lower level of 4355 Route 6, right across Rt. 6 from KCH.

KCH Home Health Care can help ease your transition from hospital to home. You may contact our KCH Home Health Care Office by calling 814-837-4790 or ask your care team members to make the call for you.

Kane Community Hospital offers state of the art diagnostic technology. Should the need arise, we want you to know that KCH offers the latest advances — most effective, least invasive diagnostics including 32-slice CT technology; dual-head nuclear medicine, full body bone densitometry, digital ultrasonography (general and cardiac), all digital radiography and fluoroscopy, capsule endoscopy and in Johnsonburg at Hamot Medical Center, a service of KCH, we offer PET/CT and MRI. We have Stereotactic Breast Biopsy, Digital Mammography and our hospital MRI suite is being renovated for our new digital MRI to be installed in early 2010 and ready for patients by March. Until then patients receive MRI testing at the Hamot Medical Park in Johnsonburg, a service of KCH. For an appointment, or more information, please call 814-837-4580.

Community Blood Bank (CBB) of Northwest PA

If you receive blood/blood products while a patient at Kane Community Hospital, they come from CBB—the SOLE source of Blood for all McKean, Elk, Warren and Erie County Hospitals. No other blood is used by any hospital in these counties. When donating blood we hope you’ll consider CBB.
